Bridgeton Officials to Vote on Giving Themselves Raises

Bridgeton city council members could give themselves a $1,500 per year raise.

 

The Bridgeton City Council will vote Wednesday night on whether they are deserving of more cash for their services. 

Right now, city council members receive a $6,000 per year sallary. But according to city documents, council members could give themselves a $1,500 raise and boost their annual salary to $7,500 per year if they so choose to do so. 

The raise would not go into effect until May 1, 2014. 

Another agenda item could give municipal judges a $5,000 salary increase from $20,000 per year to $25,000 per year effective May 1, 2014. 

The city council meets tonight at 7 p.m. at the Bridgeton City Hall, located at 12355 Natural Bridge Road. The meeting is free and open to the public.
