The Humane Society of Missouri is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for tethering a puppy to a truck and dragging it down Interstate 55 on Friday, Fox 2 News reports.

A 5-and-a-half-year-old Pit Bull, who was tethered to a truck and dragged on Interstate 55, is recovering at the Humane Society of Missouri facility in Maryland Heights, KMOX reports. 

According to the article, St. Louis Police responded to the scene this morning after a driver had seen the dog being dragged and called police. Officers found the driver of the truck “distraught,” according to the Humane Society. He said he didn’t know the animal and wasn’t aware it had became tied to his truck.
