City Council Passes Price Hike in Several Recreation Fees
The Maryland Heights City Council voted for several price increases for pavilion and Maryland Heights Centre room reservations.
Maryland Heights residents can expect a price jump if they hope to reserve a room at the Maryland Heights Centre or a pavilion. City council voted to increase the prices of reservations Thursday.
Reservations for pavilions have increased $15 across the board, the bill indicates, except for nonprofit organizations. Nonprofits will continue to pay $20 to reserve a pavilion.
Residents will pay $40, up from $25, the bill indicates.
Most meeting rooms at the Maryland Heights Centre saw an increase of $25 per three-hour session. For instance, Meeting Room No. 1 will cost a resident $125 per three-hour session, up from $100.
The Centre’s auditorium/ballroom’s price also increased by $200 per six-hour session. Residents previously paid $1,000 per six hours. Now they will pay $1,200.
The Maryland Heights City Council also passed four other pieces of legislation Thursday night.
- A motion to recommend Industrial Soap Company as the preferred custodial supply vendor for 2012 under a State of Missouri contract
- A motion to approve a contract with W.W. Grainger, Inc. as the preferred maintenance supplies vendor for 2012 under a statewide contract
- An ordinance repealing Ordinance 2007-2942 and enacting a new conditional use permit in lieu thereof authorizing a sewage pressure control and pumping station at 15119 River Valley Dr.
- A proposed ordinance amending the Zoning Code to add cellular telephone stores as permitted uses in commercial districts and the “M-1” Office, Service and Light Manufacturing District
The next city council meeting is scheduled for Feb. 16
