County Owes Damages to Trash Haulers, Court Says
The case involves districts set up for unincorporated parts of St. Louis County, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
This map shows the eight trash districts serving unincorporated parts of St. Louis County. The Missouri Supreme Court ruled this week that the county must pay damages to three trash haulers that did not receive contracts after updates to the law. The amount of money paid to those companies will be determined at a hearing. The map comes from the St. Louis County website.

A new hearing is planned to determine how much St. Louis County must pay in damages to three trash haulers, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
Quoting from the Post-Dispatch article:
"The Missouri Supreme Court upheld on Tuesday a 2010 St. Louis County Circuit Court ruling that the county violated state law when it failed to give three waste haulers two years' notice before setting up trash districts."
