Craig Elementary Hosting Meeting Tuesday On Community Safety
The session was considered prior to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
Craig Elementary School will host a Community Safety meeting Tuesday evening in an effort to connect parents with law enforcement resources.
The school has had a heightened concern with school safety this year. St. Louis County Police have had an increased presence in the area since November, when a man in a van tried to lure students into his vehicle
The meeting was in the works prior to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, CT which left 26 people dead, including 20 children.
"We're pulling the right people together," Principal Bill Senti said Tuesday, after hearing from parents who wanted to get more organized on safety issues but didn't know how to do it. He praised the efforts from County Police who have also been in the halls of the school, and even offered them a school lunch.
Parkway administrators, including Superintendent Dr. Keith Marty, will also be in attendance. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the school
