Maryland Heights Burglar Smashed Car Through Closed Garage Door, Police Say

A man, who had previously admitted to burglary in Maryland Heights, smashed a car through a closed garage door in Clayton after the homeowner confronted him Sept. 29 during a separate burglary, police said.

Area Rape Part of Serial Rapist's Aim for Asians

A rape that occurred near Maryland Heights on Sept. 19 is believed to be connected to a serial rapist's attempt to attack Asian women.

St. Louis County police believe a serial rapist is targeting Asian women in northwestern St. Louis County and possibly elsewhere throughout the country, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

Police: Cars Targeted for Clotting Scheme

Nearly ten cars were targeted for theft late last month.

Maryland Heights police say nine cars were the victim of a car clotting scheme between Sept. 24 and Sept. 25.

All of the thefts occured near the intersections of Bennington and Basston, and Basston and Western Cape.

Man Suspected in Seven Robberies Charged With Check 'N Go Hold Up

A man police believe may be responsible for as many as seven armed robberies in St. Louis and St. Charles counties was charged with robbing a check-cashing business May 12 in Bridgeton.

Darrell Bolden, Jr, 37, of the 10100 block of Douglas Court in St. Ann, was charged Thursday with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action in the Bridgeton incident.

Police: Man Put Loaded Gun in Front of Teen, Suggested Suicide

A Maryland Heights man faces criminal charges after police said he put a loaded gun in front of a teenager who had suicidal tendencies and suggested she kill herself.

The man also gave the 16-year-old girl alcohol, made her dance with him and rubbed up against her, Maryland Heights Police said.
