Crunch Time: Tuesday is the Final Day to File for Municipal Elections

Jan. 17 is the last day Maryland Heights residents can file for candidacy in the 2012 municipal election.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 17 is the final day to file for the 2012 Maryland Heights Municipal Election. The St. Louis County election calendar indicates filing will close at 5 p.m.

As of Jan. 13, seven Maryland Heights residents had filed to run for city council spots. Incumbent Ken Gold, John Minton and Steve Leipziger will vie for the Ward 1 council seat.

Incumbent Kim Baker and Howard Abrams will both run for the Ward 2 spot.

Ward 3’s Chuck Caverly and Ward 4’s Jim Carver—both incumbent city council members—were the only candidates to file to run for their council seats as of Jan. 13.

Election day is April 3.
