Nursing Home Worker Repeatedly Struck Resident, Police Say

Police said the worker assaulted the man in April 2011.

 

A former nursing home employee faces criminal charges after police said she struck a resident at the care center.

Diann Baker, 56, was charged Friday in St. Louis County Circuit Court with elder abuse.

St. Louis County Police said in a report that Baker repeatedly struck the resident at Rosewood Care Center, 11278 Schuetz Road in unincorporated St. Louis County on April 10, 2011. The victim was more than 60 years old.

I have a family member in a nursing home and I can't believe this happens. I have wondered why nursing homes do not have security cameras to keep employees from harming the poor souls that depend on strangers to care for them. I hope this person gets piunished to the fullest degree.
