When it comes to restaurants, Maryland Heights has it covered.
But what we don't have is a consistent food critic to tell us what's good and what's not.
That's where you come in.
We could throw some money at a professional food critic, but that's not exactly what Patch is all about. We'd much rather know the opinion of the fine folks that eat there day-in and day-out.
It's your community. You eat the food. You tell us if it passes the mark.
This week's restaurant is Balducci's Winefest Restaurant, the well-known Westport Plaza establishment.
Balducci's began in 1975, and its recipes stretch back even farther, to the roots of an Italian family. The restaurant serves its own Balducci wine crafted in the family vineyard. The menu offers award-winning toasted ravioli, a variety of pizzas and more.

Here's what Mary Jo McConnell, a Maryland Heights Patch reader, had to say about Balducci's:
We love Balducci's! I have been going there long before I ever lived in Maryland Heights. My father-in-law drives all the way from Hillsboro to partake of their delicious menu offerings. In fact, everything I have ever had at Balducci's has been fantastic. Their rathskeller setting creates a warm coziness that gives the sensation that one is dining at the home of a friend rather than a public venue.
At Maryland Heights Patch, we believe your words of wisdom are better than any food critic.
What are you waiting for? Let the reviewing begin!

Balducci's is a great neighborhood gem. Lunch specials are a good value. When I go for dinner, we almost always get the pizza. The thin crust is the best I've had in St. Louis (w/out the dreadful provel). My husband is from Kenosha WI where they have a distinctive thin crust pizza style, and he claims Balducci's is the STL pizza closest to what he had back home.
