Humane Society to Redevelop, Move Into Former Maryland Heights Restaurant

The organization will be requesting a special permit from the Maryland Heights Planning Commission on Tuesday evening. The event is open to the public.

 

The Humane Society of Missouri is in the process of building a new veterinary clinic and adoption center that would take the place of a former Maryland Heights restaurant. 

The Humane Society is looking to redevelop a building at 11660 Administratin Drive, a location near the intersection of Page Avenue and Schueltz Road across the street from the St. Louis Crisis Nursery. 

The organization will be requesting a special permit from the Maryland Heights Planning Commission on Tuesday evening. The event is open to the public. 

The new building would be within the Westport Planning Area. According to city documents, the redevelopment would be within the goals of the Westport Planning Area. 

The city planner said the redevelopment woudl strengthen the city's image along Page Avenue. City documents also show that the new building would be a "bold, modern design featuring a brick base and Trespa wall panelsin a blend of three colors.
