Incumbents Confirm Maryland Heights City Council Re-election Hopes
Filing for candidacy in the 2012 municipal election begins Dec. 13.
December is almost upon Maryland Heights, and that means the 2012 election season is just around the corner. Filing for candidacy in next April’s municipal election will begin at 8 a.m. on Dec. 13.
Four city council seats will be up for election, according to city officials—one for each Ward. Ken Gold (Ward 1), Kim Baker (Ward 2), Chuck Caverly (Ward 3) and Jim Carver (Ward 4) currently hold the seats.
Baker, Caverly and Carver confirmed via email that they will be seeking re-election.
As of Monday morning, Gold had not responded to an email requesting confirmation on his candidacy plans.
Election filing for Pattonville School District will also begin on Dec. 13. Maryland Heights Patch reported previously that two Pattonville school board seats will be up for election this year.

What makes a good Councilman? Is it when they listen to the ideas and concerns of the residents, or when they don't listen and ignore the concerns of residents and vote to do what they want on issues and projects concerning the City?
