Land Near Harrah's Receives New Classification

Several acres near the Maryland Heights Casino was rezoned as a non-urban district last Thursday.

Eleven-point-three acres of land near Harrah’s Casino was rezoned as a non-urban district at last Thursday’s Maryland Heights city council meeting. The council voted unanimously to amend Maryland Heights’ official zoning map, which changes the area’s previous “PD-M” designation.

The ordinance indicates the city’s planning commission recommended the new classification after determining it was consistent with Maryland Heights’ comprehensive plan. Previously the commission held a public hearing on the change.

The city council will next meet on July 5.
