Man, on Phone, Injured in Car Accident on I-70
A St. Louis man was driving his car along Interstate 70 near Maryland Heights when he drove off the side of the road and flipped his car. The Missouri State Highway Patrol say he was using his phone at the time of the accident.
A man using his cell phone while driving eastbound on Interstate 70 crashed his car and suffered moderate injuries Saturday evening near Maryland Heights.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Darrell Baldwin, of St. Louis, was driving a 2005 Ford Explorer eastbound on I-70, close to the Interstate 270 exit, when he lost control of the car while on the phone, drove off the right side of the road and flipped the car.
Baldwin, according to the highway patrol crash report, was not wearing a safety device. He was taken to DePaul Hospital by the Pattonville Ambulance District with moderate injuries.
Baldwin was the only person involved in the accident.
