Man Slammed Girlfriend's Head on Counter, Police Say

The man pleaded guilty last January to assaulting another woman in 2010.

A Maryland Heights man slammed his girlfriend’s head on a kitchen counter and then prevented her from leaving to seek help, Glendale Police said.

William Greggory Buffington, 47, of the 2300 block of Pheasant Run Drive in Maryland Heights, with third-degree domestic assault and false imprisonment.

Glendale Police said Buffington injured his girlfriend April 27 in the 800 block of Queen Anne Place in Glendale, and then restrained her from leaving.

Buffington pleaded guilty on Jan. 30 to assaulting a different woman in November 2010.

Bail was set at $10,000, cash only.

Domestic Violence has always been an overlooked problem with Police Offices and I am glad to see local agencies taking offenses more serious. However, misquoting and exaggerating details (especially on headlines) on cases that haven't been to trial only hurt all parties involved.
