Maryland Heights Continue Bank Robbery Investigation

Maryland Heights Police investigating bank robbery to determine whether similar incidents have occurred in surrounding areas.

Maryland Heights Police continue to investigate a bank robbery that happened this week.

On Monday, a woman implying she had a gun robbed the U.S. Bank location inside Schnuck's grocery store near the Dorsett Road and McKelvey Road intersection.

The woman was described by police as black, 5-foot-5 and weighing about 150 pounds while wearing a plaid cadet-style hat, a black coat, black purse and jeans. She also has a crooked lower front tooth, police say.

Police say the woman implied she had a gun but never showed it. She left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

Maryland Heights Police were on the scene roughly five minutes after the crime. Officials are investigating to determine whether similar incidents have occurred in surrounding areas.

According to bandittracker.com, two other U.S. Banks locations inside a Schnuck's grocery store have been robbed in the recent past—one in Alton, IL, in October and another in Madison, IL, in September.

In both those cases, the suspect is not described similarly to the one in the Maryland Heights case.

It took 5 minutes for the police to arrive??? No surprising they are more interested in catching speeders on the Earth City Non_Expressway. The police department is less than 5 minutes away. Great protection.
