A Maryland Heights man was charged Monday with having sex with and sending illicit texts to a 14-year-old child.

Charles A. Hook, 37, of the first block of Reading Avenue in Maryland Heights, is charged with enticing a child, three counts of statutory sodomy and sexual misconduct involving a child less than 15 years old.

According to a Maryland Heights Police report, Hook texted a 14-year-old child over a five-month period from November through March. In the text messages, he described and requested sexual acts and sent photos of his genitals, police said.

In January, Hook is charged with having three sex acts with the child, according to court documents.

Hook was arrested in Montgomery County, MD and officials are awaiting extradition to St. Louis, a Maryland Heights police spokesman said.

Bond has been set at $100,000, cash only.
