A 60-year-old Maryland Heights man was involved in a fatal car accident Sunday afternoon near Augusta.

Duy Khang N. Le, 21, of Fenton, was driving his motorcycle westbound along Highway 94 near Augusta at an excessive rate of speed when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic and hit the side of another car—driven by the Maryland Heights man—in oncoming traffic, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Le and a 21-year-old woman from Arnold were thrown from the motorcycle. Le was pronounced dead a short time thereafter.

The woman, identified as Jacquelynn Schell, sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Washington hospital.

The Maryland Heights man suffered no injuries, according to the highway patrol.

All persons involved in the accident were wearing safety devices.

This is wrong. Khang was not excessively speeding. He will never get to tell his story because he's dead now. The media is trying to make it seem like it was all his fault. Ha. Corrupt.

i was riding behind him at the time, and we were not speeding... the van was turning left on 94 and when they pulled out, they came to a slow roll and khang had no time to react or get around him because he had jacquelynn on the back

Also, why would Khang be the one that "failed to yield" when we were already on 94??? The driver of the van is the one that was turning onto 94 from a gravel road with a stop sign. Please know the facts before you drag his name through dirt... its been very hard for his family and all of us who where there when it happened, and this is just the ultimate form of kicking a person while they're down when we read these reports.
