Maryland Heights Mom Represents Missouri at National Parenting Conference
Angela Vos McCormick will represent Missouri at "Parenting Magazine's" at its Mom Congress on Education and Learning.
Maryland Heights resident and Pattonville mom Angela Vos McCormick will represent Missouri at Parenting Magazine’s Mom Congress on Education and Learning. A press release indicates the conference will run April 29-May 1.
Education is a big part of Vos McCormick’s life. She earned a master's degree in public administration from Saint Louis University. She works as an adjunct professor at Iowa-based Ashford University, where she teaches online courses.
Vos McCormick has been a parent for 11 years. She said both of her children attend Rose Acres Elementary School. She looks at education for her children as the way they can set themselves up to be anything they want.
“Whatever they want to accomplish, it’s there,” she said.
Parents can help set their children up for success by volunteering at schools, she said. Even small volunteer opportunities, such as donating a bag of lollipops, can make a big impact for their child. Vos McCormick said she would like to discuss how to improve communication between parents and teachers from the conference.
In the weeks leading up to the conference, Vos McCormick has been busy preparing. She has set up a meeting with Pattonville superintendent Mike Fulton and says she’s been active on the conference delegate’s Facebook page.
The third-annual Mom Congress on Education and Learning will take place in Washington D.C. beginning on April 29.
