Maryland Heights Police Department Re-Certified by Police Chiefs' Association

In 2009, the MHPD became the second department in the state to receive the certification.

At a Dec. 6 ceremony in Jefferson City, the Maryland Heights Police Department was officially re-certified by the Missouri Police Chiefs' Association (MPCA).

In 2009, the MHPD became the second department in the state to receive the certification.

Capt. Rex Gooch managed the recertification process, during which MPCA assessors spent two days with the department evaluating policies and procedures, inspecting the facility and interviewing employees.

“This certification confirms that our practices are consistent with professional standards, enhances our understanding of our own policies and practices and helps us become even more effective in our daily operations,” said Deputy Chief of Police Bill Carson.
