Parkway Students Bid Fern Ridge High Adieu
Fern Ridge High School students and students enrolled in the Missouri Option Program walked away graduates on Friday.
Principal Rebecca Warren told the audience this year is the school's 20th aniversary. The school, she said, started in 1992 after several years of development.
Fern Ridge is a non-traditional academic program, the school's website indicates—an alternative school where students must apply rather than be sent by parents or the court system.
Thirty-seven Missouri Option Program (MOP) students also graduated with the Fern Ridge students. The graduation program indicates MOP "was developed for students who have the capability to complete the Missouri High School Graduation Requirements but, for a variety of reasons, lack the credits needed to graduate with their class."
