Plans to Tear Down Former Pasta House Presented to Planning and Zoning Commission

A proposal was made to the Maryland Heights Planning and Zoning Commission to demolish the restaurant at 12425 Dorsett Road and rebuild it as multi-tenant building.

A request to demolish to the former Pasta House restaurant and rezone the area was made to the Maryland Heights Planning and Zoning Commission during the Dec. 11 meeting.

Baldridge Properties, LLC requested to rezone the Dorsett-McKelvey Commercial area—a 3.94 acre tract located in northeast quadrant of the intersection of Dorsett and McKelvey Roads. The request was to change it from a "C-2" to a planned commercial district. Currently the area contains a Jimmy John's, a Walgreen's a Phillip's 66 gas station and the former Pasta House restaurant.

The proposed reason for the rezoning request is to allow the destruction of the Pasta House, located at 12425 Dorsett Road. The proposed plan calls for the Pasta House to be destroyed a new multi-tenant building to take its place.

A public hearing was opened at the October 9, commission meeting and closed during the Oct. 23 meeting. The commission conditionally approved the Conceptual Development Plan.

According to the plans presented to the commission, the proposed use of the building is still to be determined.
