Police: Man Steals Sister's SUV, Uses Her Credit Card, Pawns Her GPS
St. Louis County Police said the man took his sister's car keys and credit card from her purse while she was showering.
A man stole his sister’s SUV and credit card, which he used to buy a carton of cigarettes, according to a St. Louis County Police report.
Zlatko Tadic, 25, of the 1600 block of Green Hill Drive in unincorporated St. Louis County was charged Tuesday with stealing a vehicle, stealing a credit device and fraudulent use of a credit card.
St. Louis County Police said that while his sister was in the shower, Tadic took her car keys and a credit card from her purse. He then drove the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer to the 7-Eleven on Dorsett Road, about a half-mile from his sister’s residence in the 1600 block of Green Hill between Maryland Heights and Creve Coeur.
Tadic used his sister’s credit card to buy a carton of cigarettes, police said.
The woman called police to report the thefts and told police she suspected her brother, who was in her home while she was showering.
Police said Tadic called family members and said he would drop the Chevy Blazer at the Schnucks parking lot in Overland. The car was recovered, but the keys and a GPS unit were missing. Police said Tadic pawned the GPS unit.
After her car was recovered, Tadic returned to his sister’s residence and demanded she let him in. His sister refused and called police. Officers found him hiding in a shed in her backyard. Her car keys and credit card were on a wood pile near the shed.
Tadic was being held Thursday in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $20,000.
