The St. Louis County Police will hold a forum about a rise in heroin and prescription pain killer use among teens on Thursday, June 23 at 7 p.m. The forum will be held at Pattonville High School, according to a press release.

This issue goes beyond St. Louis. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, prescription drugs and over-the-counter medication are the second drug of choice among 12th graders—just behind marijuana.

Narcotics Anonymous groups in the St. Louis area have several helplines available for drug users seeking help.
