Neighborhoods across the city will celebrate “Maryland Heights Night Out” tonight for the second year.

Residents are encouraged to organize block parties on their streets or in their subdivisions.

Last year, 13 neighborhoods in all four wards held gatherings to raise awareness about crime prevention, safety and community partnership. The city provides party planning kits and treats for kids upon registration.

Visits from elected officials, police officers and K-9 units and fire protection district officials may also be arranged
