Kim Baker and Howard Abrams will face off for the Ward 2 spot on city council.
Filing for the 2012 municipal elections started Tuesday morning, and five Maryland Heights residents have opted for candidacy.
- Ward 1: Ken Gold
- Ward 2: Kim Baker and Howard Abrams

Only one seat, Ward 2, has more than one candidate on the first day. Incumbent Kim Baker has filed for to run for the position. Baker was appointed to represent Ward 2 on the city council in March after Councilwoman Judy Barnett died.
Howard Abrams, who currently serves on the Maryland Heights Planning Commission, has also filed to run for the seat.

Ken Gold has to go. People are getting really tired of his abusive tactics. Hard to believe how stupid people are to keep him in office this long. He's truly a mental midget.
