DESCRIPTION:WomenHeart\, the National Coalition for Women with Heart Dise
 ase\, and the SSM Heart Institute at St. Clare Health Center are teaming
  up for a community support network for women living with heart disease.
  The group will be hosted by WomenHeart Champion Donna Ringwald at SSM S
 t. Clare Health Center. The next meeting will be held at noon\, Thursday
 \, May 2\, in the Cardiac Rehab Department\, located on the Garden Level
  of the St. Francis Building at St. Clare Health Center\, and is open to
  all women living with heart disease. The support group will meet the se
 cond Tuesday of every month. Be sure to bring your lunch!\n&ldquo\;Heart
  disease is the leading cause of death in women. As a woman living with 
 this chronic and life-threatening condition\, I know firsthand the impor
 tance of support system to help live a healthier lifestyle\,&rdquo\; sai
 d Ringwald. &ldquo\;Through our partnership with the SSM Heart Institute
  at St. Clare Health Center we look forward to offering this monthly pro
 gram and to improving the lives of women living with heart disease in ou
 r community.&rdquo\;\nRingwald became a WomenHeart Support Network Coord
 inator after attending the WomenHeart Science &amp\; Leadership Symposiu
 m at Mayo Clinic in October 2010. There\, since 2002\, nearly 60 women h
 eart disease survivors gather to be trained to become volunteer communit
 y educators and support network coordinators in an effort to help women 
 live heart-healthier lives and receive the support they need.\nHeart dis
 ease is the leading cause of death in women and more women than men have
  died from heart disease every year since 1984. WomenHeart advocates for
  prevention\, early and accurate diagnosis\, and proper treatment of hea
 rt disease\, and WomenHeart Champions lead the only national community-b
 ased\, patient-led network of support groups for women living with heart
  disease.
