William Shakespeare's words will electrify the city with the third annual Shake 38, a wildly successful urban event set for May 18-22. This yearʼs Shake-38 has been expanded to a fiveday festival that will lead up to the first preview performance of "Othello," at 8 p.m., May 23 in Shakespeare Glen at Forest Park (Art Hill Drive). The marathon reading/performance of Shakespeare's 38 play canon is limited only by one's imagination. Anyone interested in participating in Shake-38 should contact shake38@sfstl.com or call 314/531-9800, ext. 113. There is no limit to how a work may be performed. Shakespeare Festival St. Louis can assist in helping pair interested individuals and groups with venues if necessary. The registration deadline is April 15. Shake 38 is made possible with a generous donation from Ken and Nancy Kranzberg.
