Richard Ambler is scheduled to be in federal court Friday.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a Parkway School district substitute teacher who passed district background checks is due in federal court to address his indictment by a grand jury on a charge of child porn possession. The newspaper reports Richard Ambler, of Florissant, taught at the middle and high school level since 2009 and has been removed from the district's substitute rolls. Parkway spokesperson Paul Tandy stated in an email to Patch that Ambler was a substitute teacher "on and off" for the district, but pointed out he was not a full-time employee and said that Ambler is "a non-player in Parkway." According to the Lutheran North High School website Thursday, Ambler is the head coach for the boys tennis team.
