A former nursing home employee faces criminal charges after police said she struck a resident at the care center. Diann Baker, 56, was charged Friday in St. Louis County Circuit Court with elder abuse. St. Louis County Police said in a report that Baker repeatedly struck the resident at Rosewood Care Center, 11278 Schuetz Road in unincorporated St. Louis County on April 10, 2011. A man shot at his victim moments after breaking into her apartment and stealing items at gunpoint, according to a Bridgeton Police report. Neikos Walker, 22, of St. Louis, was charged Friday with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and three counts of armed criminal action. Police said that Walker forced his way into the victim’s apartment in the 3300 block of Claxtonhall in Bridgeton, armed with a handgun. At gunpoint, he took cash, a PlayStation and a cell phone, and then fled to a waiting car, according to the report. The victim ran outside and around the apartment building. A man was indicted by a grand jury Wednesday on second-degree assault, armed criminal action and first-degree property damage. Maryland Heights Police said in a report that Sean Stapley, 26, rammed his vehicle into another man’s car near the driver’s side door Jan. 24 on Dorsett Road near Interstate 270. When Stapley regained control of his car, he hit the victim’s car two more times, according to the report. The victim was treated at a hospital and released. The victim’s car, a 1996 Buick Regal, had $3,273 in damage.
