Three bank robbers from North St. Louis County were caught thanks to a man and his camera phone. The bandits are being charged with 14-area robberies, including one from Maryland Heights.
A man with a camera phone, in the right place at the wrong time, helped Maryland Heights Police catch three people wanted in connection to 14 St. Louis-area bank robberies. All three were from the North St. Louis County-area, including Michael Abbott, of Florissant; Latonya Jones, of Berkeley; and Damon Marlon Gibbs, of Ferguson. Abbott, 28, of the 1000 block of St. Brendan Lane in Florissant, was charged by St. Louis County prosecutors in January for robbing the First Bank branch inside the Brentwood Dierberg’s store on Jan. 7. U.S. Bank is offering $10,000 for information leading to an arrest regarding any robbery at any of their bank branches, KSDK reports. That includes the recent bank robbery of the U.S. Bank location in Maryland Heights. Maryland Heights Police are still investigating a bank robbery that happened this week. On Oct. 5, a woman implying she had a gun robbed the U.S. Bank location inside Schnuck's grocery store near the Dorsett Road and McKelvey Road intersection. Maryland Heights Police continue to investigate a bank robbery that happened this week. On Monday, a woman implying she had a gun robbed the U.S. Bank location inside Schnuck's grocery store near the Dorsett Road and McKelvey Road intersection. The woman was described by police as black, 5-foot-5 and weighing about 150 pounds while wearing a plaid cadet-style hat, a black coat, black purse and jeans. U.S. Bank inside Schnuck's grocery store was robbed Monday afternoon.
A woman implying she had a gun robbed a Maryland Heights bank Monday. The woman—described by police as black, 5-foot-5 and weighing about 150 pounds while wearing a plaid cadet-style hat, a black coat, black purse and jeans—approached the teller of a U.S. Bank location inside Schnuck's grocery store and presented a demand note. Police say the woman implied she had a gun but never showed it. She left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. Schnuck's is located near the Dorsett Road and McKelvey Road intersection.
