Cops Bust Man Changing Lanes 'Abruptly' on I-270 For Driving Impaired—His Third Such Offense

Josiah Williams was driving while intoxicated on I-270 at Dorsett Road, according to a court document.

A South County man faces his third impaired driving charge since 2003 following a traffic stop near the Interstate 270 and Dorsett Road intersection in Maryland Heights. Josiah W. Williams, 32, of the 9500 block of Fredricksburg Court in South County just south of Crestwood, was charged March 21 with driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender. A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper pulled Williams over at 11:04 p.m. on June 21 on Interstate 270 after he changed lanes back and forth abruptly without signaling, according to a court document. Second DWI Brings Felony Charge for Maryland Heights Man

Maryland Heights Police said they pulled the man over near his home and he registered a 0.161 percent blood-alcohol content.

A Maryland Heights man faces a criminal charge for his second time caught driving while intoxicated, police said. Khari Rufus, 39, of the 12200 block of Corrida Court in Maryland Heights, was charged Dec. 21 with DWI as a persistent offender, a class D felony. Maryland Heights Police said officers spotted Rufus driving and showing signs of intoxication on April 22, 2012 near his home, exactly six years after his first DWI incident. An officer pulled him over and Rufus did poorly on a sobriety test, and then tested at 0.161 percent on a breathalyzer, more than twice the legal limit. Rufus was charged with second-degree assault in Jennings for causing an accident April 22, 2006 while driving intoxicated. Two people were injured. He was …
