What Would You Do If You Won the Lottery?

After a local woman won the lottery, I found myself thinking of all the things I’d do if I won the lottery—things like pay off the house, buy a new car, set up college funds for the kids, vacations—the usual. When I posted the news on our Facebook page and asked our friends what they’d do if they won the lottery, they weren’t shy about sharing their thoughts. Plug-in to the Maryland Heights community! Social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter will play a massive role in reelecting President Barack Obama or voting in a new President of the United States, in Mitt Romney. How is it affecting your voting habits?

Voters are less than a week away from hitting the polls, in hopes of voting in a new president or giving the current one another four-year term. Chances are, they've already influenced the outcome whether the meant to or not. According to a Pew Research Centerstudy, 66 percent of social media users—or 39 percent of all American adults—have done at least one of eight civic or political activities with social media. Those activities include things such as posting one's thoughts about issues, posting links to political material, encouraging others to take political action, following elected officials on social media and liking or promoting political material others have posted.
