Celebration of Lights in O'Fallon Celebration of Lights is a drive-through holiday light display in Fort Zumwalt Park in O'Fallon, which is designed and funded by local organizations, churches and businesses. This event attracts more than 5,000 individuals on walk-through night. The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and Tuesday through Thursday (except Tuesday, December 11) and 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is $9 for cars, $15 for commercial vans, $1 per person on tour buses. On Mondays, you can schedule a train ride through the park. Call for more information at 636-369-5502. Now in its 26th year, the Winter Wonderland in Tilles Park boasts more than one million twinkling lights, making it a magnet for families from around metro St. Louis. “It’s a family tradition,” said Justin Hirsch, Special Events Coordinator for St. Louis County Parks. Whether this is your first year to visit the Winter Wonderland or you have visited many times, you will find holiday scenes new and old. “The display changes every year,” said Hirsch. Patch.com is launching a nationwide contest to find the best dressed home in its Patch communities, and the winner’s school district will receive $100,000, no strings attached. Here’s how the contest works. Beginning on Dec. 8 and continuing through Dec. 26, you can nominate your home by uploading a photo to the contest entry form on the site. During that same time period you and your neighbors will also be able to vote for your favorite festive home. The winning entry will be forwarded to a national Patch judge that will select 24 finalists. Each finalist will receive $500 that they can apply to their December electric bill.
