Updated: MoDot to Shut Down Rt. 364 From I-270 to St. Charles County

The Missouri Department of Transportation's Twitter feed—@StLouisTraffic—has reported dozens of accidents since snow began falling Thursday morning.

Race for the Cure Runners: MoDOT to Accomodate on Saturday

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on St. Louis area work zones for June 21-27.

MoDOT crews will have westbound Interstate 64 closed for portions of this weekend to continue work around the double deck structure downtown. The work should not significantly impact runners and walkers heading to the Race for the Cure downtown. Crews will close all lanes of westbound I-64 from Broadway to 21st Street starting Friday at 10 a.m. They will reopen one lane between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Saturday to allow Race for the Cure participants to get downtown. Then, the lanes remain closed until 3 a.m. Monday. The detour for the closure is Interstate 44 to Jefferson. MoDOT Cancels I-270 Closures, Rock Blasting For Rest of Week

Modot is canceling the daily road closures on I-270 between Manchester and Big Bend roads in West County.

The Missouri Department of Transportation announced Wednesday morning it is canceling the daily Interstate 270 lane closures so crews can can complete survey work in the blasting region. I-270 between between Manchester and Big Bend roads was being closed two times a day, Monday through Friday for rock blasting as part of the I-270 road widening project that is underway from Manchester Road to I-44.  The portion of I-270 near I-44 has remained open during this portion of the construction.  As previously reported by Patch, MoDOT has been closing both northbound and southbound sections of I-270 for up to 15 minutes at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. during weekdays. Update: Man Ejected From Car on I-270

An O'Fallon man was seriously injured on I-270 when he was ejected from a car's sunroof.

An O'Fallon man was seriously injured early Wednesday on I-270. Jeffrey Morrissey, 21, was ejected from the passenger seat and out of the sunroof of a 2010 Toyota Camry, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Alex Abrams, 30, of St. Charles was allegedly driving the car at 1:22 a.m. on June 20. The Highway Patrol's report indicates Morrissey was standing in the sunroof when Abrams lost control. Morrissey was then ejected from the vehicle. KMOV-TV reported Abrams was arrested for DWUI and felony assault charges.

Traffic Ahead: More Than 100 Work Zones in the St. Louis Area

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on St. Louis area work zones for June 14-20.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has more than 100 construction and maintenance work zones planned in the metropolitan area during the next week. MoDOT asks drivers to slow down and be aware in work zones. From downtown St. Louis to Franklin County, MoDOT crews and contractors are taking advantage of the good weather to make progress on major construction projects. This includes such as widening Interstate 270 between Manchester Road and Interstate 44, and the I-44 pavement reconstruction between Lewis Road and Route 141. Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

MoDOT: I-270 Daily Closures Running Smoothly So Far

MoDOT reports Wednesday's road closures and rock blasting on northbound and southbound I-270 experienced no serious issues.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports it is monitoring the work zone along I-270 in West County where rock blasting and road closures are taking place daily.  So far, there have not been any problems in the work zone between Manchester and Big Bend roads, according to MoDOT. However, drivers are urged to "pay attention to signs in the work zones and alter their travel times by leaving earlier for their daily commute." Wednesday, MoDOT stated in a news release that the morning blasting time around 10 a.m. closed the road for less than 10 minutes. Afternoon Blasts & I-270 Road Closure Canceled

The next closure of I-270 will be Wednesday morning at 10 a.m.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has just canceled the 1:30 p.m. rock blasting that was scheduled on Interstate 270 Tuesday. The blasting would have shut down northbound and southbound I-270 between Manchester and Big Bend roads. MoDOT states in a news alert, that the Tuesday afternoon blast is canceled and the next closure is scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m.  MoDOT crews are evaluating Tuesday morning's closure and will make any necessary adjustments for upcoming blasting times. MoDOT has canceled the blasting on I-270 for Tuesday, according to its Facebook page.

UPDATE, 11:59 a.m.: MoDOT-St. Louis' Facebook page indicates today's closing has been canceled. The Missouri Department of Transportation is warning drivers to expect delays and avoid the area on Interstate-270 between Manchester and Big Bend roads during rock blasting times. Beginning Tuesday, there will be daily lane closures on I-270 from Manchester Road to Big Bend in both directions for up to 15 minutes at a time all week long. The closures will take place at approximately 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m, Kara Price, spokesperson for MoDOT previously told Patch. During the closures, road crews will blast rock and then clear any rock from the interstate before reopening the lanes. However, there is the chance closures can last longer than 15 …

Traffic Ahead: I-270 Lanes To Narrow

MoDOT crews will be narrowing lanes on I-270 between Manchester Road and I-44. They'll also be doing maintenance work throughout the area in the next week.

Lanes narrowing on I-270 Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) crews have begun narrowing lanes on northbound and southbound I-270 between Manchester Road and I-44. Over the next week, motorists will see various night lane closures in this area for asphalt paving operations. The work is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekdays and is part of a two-year widening project on I-270. Painting, patching and striping Crews will be painting bridges, patching potholes and striping roads throughout the region next week. Motorists are reminded to slow down when approaching work zones or moving operations on the roadways. Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

TRAFFIC ALERT: I-270 Lanes Narrowing Starting Wednesday Night

MoDOT is narrowing lanes on I-270 from Manchester Road to I-44 beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Drivers should expect narrow lanes and traffic delays on I-270 between Manchester Road and I-44 beginning Wednesday night.  The Missouri Department of Transportation will narrow northbound and southbound I-270 lanes and then close lanes on northbound I-270 at night. Most of this work is taking place on weekdays between 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. As previously reported by Patch, drivers can expect construction on this portion of I-270 for the next two years as crews work to widen I-270 between Manchester Road and I-44.
