Maryland Heights Amends Housing Bill to Include Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Protections

Following a unanimous vote this evening from the Maryland Heights City Council, Maryland Heights approved an amendment that would protect renters and buyers from being discriminated against because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Play Time! Vago, Eise Parks Get Spray Pad Playgrounds

Both are in construction phase. The original budgeted amount for the project was $443,875. Council approved increasing the budget by $14,000 in order to continue the project.

There have been a few bumps and hurdles along the way, but it appears the spray grounds at Vago and Eise parks will be open towards the middle of summer. That's according to a representative with Westport Pools. He spoke with the Maryland Heights City Council about updates on the project timeline at Thursday's city council meeting. The council approved a $14,000 increase to the park fund for the project in an effort to comply with a few guidelines from the county health department, Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The parks and recreation, and public works departments solicited bids for the design and construction of the spray pads, and found out during the bid process, additional items were …
