If you wonder what real singles in Maryland Heights are like, our photo essay sneaks you inside a mystery mingler night.
Over two dozen singles from their 20s through 40s met at The Dorsett Inn for a chance to be matched up with a stranger before relaxing for an evening of drinks and billiards. Unlike most singles events, this one was a "Mystery Mingler." The organizers asked attendees to answer five questions online. When people arrived, they had half an hour to chat with a mystery date before it turned into an open mingler. Martin Sophia, one of the organizers, said most people simply file into the next empty seat when they attend a single's event. They spend the evening talking to whoever happened to sit next to them. Most of the time, the women clump together at one end of the table and the men at the other, so he wanted to ensure people actually spoke …

Once you’re out of college, making new friends is hard. That’s why once a month we visit a local club in Maryland Heights to help you find friends in your own neighborhood.

Your friends from work are home with their spouses, your brother has a date and even your parents are going out for a romantic night. Don't worry. It's not time to join a World of Warcraft guild. It's time to join a club - and there are plenty of them out there. Every month, we'll crash a different Maryland Heights club or group as a sneak preview of the social life you could be having. We'll let you know what kind of people attend, how many of them are there, and what adventures they're up to. This month the St. Louis Singles Group joined forces with …

Not only is this hilariously written, it's actually helpful. I can find news about local shootings pretty easily, but this is the kind of stuff I actually want to know about.   more ›
