At Tuesday's Pattonville Board special work session, math placement and ACT scores were among the rankings presented for how the district shapes up with other Missouri school as part of the MSIP4 requirements.
The Pattonville School District Board of Education shared the progress of the district pertaining to the MSIP4 standards. The Board looked at the progress in light of the future as to how they can improve students scores and learning for the new upcoming MSIP5 requirements. MSIP5, or Missouri School Improvement Plan 5, sets accreditation and performance standards for Missouri schools. At the June 2012 meeting of the Missouri State Board of Education, the board expressed unanimous support for the fifth cycle of the MSIP and new scoring guide. Staffing efficiencies, transportation methods and an operating levy tax increase were among options discussed to help balance the budget at the Pattonville School District Board of Education session.
Last night the Pattonville School District Board of Education discussed several ways to help balance the budget in the coming years, an issue that is especially pressing during the tough economic times. Among potential changes mentioned to help save money were an operating levy tax increase, staffing efficiencies, different ways of utilizing classroom and building spaces, transportation methods, and redistricting considerations. To better understand where money goes in the district relating to the potential tax increase, the Board explained that there are two sources of district funding: operating levy and debt service levy.
