Driver Struck Mailbox, Left Scene While Driving Drunk, Police Say

A Maryland Heights man was charged Oct. 30 after police said he left the scene after driving into a mailbox, and having blood-alcohol content more than four times the legal limit. St. Louis County Prosecutors charged Sean M. Hurley, 42, of the 11900 block of Midvale Drive in Maryland Heights, with driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender and leaving the scene of an accident. Maryland Heights Police said Hurley drove off after hitting a mailbox on Dorsett Road Nov. 1, 2011. When officers pulled him over his blood-alcohol content was four times the legal limit, police said.
