Three Pattonville High School Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists

Two Maryland Heights Students among three high-scoring Pattonville High scholars.

The National Merit Scholarship has been a staple in the recognition of high academic achievement since 1955. Now three Pattonville High School students are in the running to compete for one of these coveted awards. Two of those Pattonville students are from Maryland Heights. Khalil Griffin and Jordi Menard are among the 50,000 juniors who earned the highest scores on the 2009 Preliminary SAT, qualifying them as semifinalists for a National Merit Scholarship. Semi finalists were announced at the end of September.  "The top scoring students are recognized as semifinalists," said Director of Public Information for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation Eileen Artemakis. What do you mean, conceited? Nothing he said would qualify as conceited. And OF COURSE he deserves his status. He EARNED it with his test scores and academic achievements. You are pretty pathetic to be hating on a 16-year-old kid.   more ›
