Thornhill Library Brings Back Valentine's Day Speed Dating Event
All you have to do is bring a book or movie that you enjoyed—or hated—that you can use as an icebreaker.
To celebrate Valentine's Day—and potentially snag book-lovers a date—the Thornhill Branch of the St. Louis County Public Library District is hosting its second annual literary speed dating event. The event is free at the Maryland Heights library, but registration is required. Speed dating will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. All you have to do is bring a book or movie that you enjoyed—or hated—that you can use as an icebreaker. Participants will then have five to seven minutes to chat with another person before moving on to the next participatn. Participants will meet potential friends and dates anonymously. Library officials say the event is aimed at adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s but all are welcome to attend. Space is limited …
