World Series of Poker Event The Cause for Hollywood's Revenue Dip

General Manager of Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights Tony Carlucci said a high-profile event at the then-Harrah's Casino was a big factor in the casino's year-over-year revenue dip, which was the steepest in the St. Louis-market last month.

A World Series of Poker event hosted by the then-Harrah's Casino in April 2011 was to blame for a big dip in year-over-year revenue figures for Hollywood Casino. That's according to Hollywood Casino General Manager Tony Carlucci, who told the St. Louis Business Journal that Harrah's April 2012 revenue was inflated because of the World Series of Poker event, which brough in a lot of business.  No other casino in the St. Louis-market saw a bigger year-over-year revenue dip than Hollywood Casino. The casino reported revenue of $19.7 million in April 2013. That's down 18 percent from April 2012, when the casino—then Harrah's Casino—the report said. Maryland Heights-Based Total Hockey Gets $3M Loan to Further Business

The financing will be used to provide working capital for general corporate purposes.

Total Hockey, Inc., the Maryland-Heights-based hockey supplier, has received a $3 million loan from Salus Caital Partners LLC to continue expanding, the St. Louis Business Journal reports.  According to the report, the financing will be used to provide working capital for general corporate purposes. From the report:  In particular, the management team is looking to enhance retail distribution in new markets and build on its e-commerce platform, the statement said. Total Hockey currently has 21 retail stores in Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Missouri, where it has locations at 254 THF Boulevard in Chesterfield; 1237 S. Kirkwood Road in Kirkwood; and 5833 Suemandy Drive in St. Peters. It also has e-commerce operations. For …

West Pointe Apartments Sold to Mills Properties

West Pointe is located in Maryland Heights, near the intersection of Page Avenue and Bennington Place, and is home to more than a thousand residents.

Mills Properties Inc. has acquired West Pointe Apartments as majority owner in a $51 million deal that closed Oct. 25, the St. Louis Business Journal reports. West Pointe is located in Maryland Heights, near the intersection of Page Avenue and Bennington Place, and is home to more than a thousand residents. The complex features one and two bedroom garden apartments, and two bedroom townhomes.
