Police: Man Steals Sister's SUV, Uses Her Credit Card, Pawns Her GPS

St. Louis County Police said the man took his sister's car keys and credit card from her purse while she was showering.

A man stole his sister’s SUV and credit card, which he used to buy a carton of cigarettes, according to a St. Louis County Police report. Zlatko Tadic, 25, of the 1600 block of Green Hill Drive in unincorporated St. Louis County was charged Tuesday with stealing a vehicle, stealing a credit device and fraudulent use of a credit card. St. Louis County Police said that while his sister was in the shower, Tadic took her car keys and a credit card from her purse. He then drove the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer to the 7-Eleven on Dorsett Road, about a half-mile from his sister’s residence in the 1600 block of Green Hill between Maryland Heights and Creve Coeur. Grant Nets New Truck, Armored Vehicle for St. Louis County Police

The agency recently used money from the Department of Homeland Security to purchase two new vehicles worth a total of $600,000.

A grant from the Department of Homeland Security has allowed the St. Louis County Police Department to equip its Tactical Operations Unit with a new specialized equipment truck and an armored vehicle. The two vehicles will help the unit’s SWAT team be able to respond more effectively and efficiently to various kinds of threats, from “active shooters” to a biological terrorist attack. Bureau of Patrol Support Commander Capt. John Belmar said the $240,000 equipment truck and $360,000 armored vehicle were paid for entirely by the grant, but the money was not easy to come by. “We were pretty stoked about it,” he said. “It is a lot of hard work to not only apply for [the grant] but to be in the position to accept it.” The role of local law …

Five Indicted on 11 Car Thefts From Lou Fusz Dealership

The scheme to steal cars also involved eight thefts from Johnny Londoff Chevrolet the same night, police said.

Five people were indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury Thursday for 11 car thefts at Lou Fusz Buick GMC Oct. 11. Indicted on 11 counts of car theft, second-degree burglary and felony theft were: Waller, Hunter and Howell also are charged with stealing cars from Johnny Londoff Chevrolet in Florissant on the same evening. St. Louis County Police spokesman Officer Randy Vaughn said the five defendants, acting with others, stole the vehicles and parked them in various locations in the city and county. One car stolen from the Lou Fusz dealership was recovered at Johnny Londoff Chevrolet. The cars have all been recovered. St. Louis County Police are investigating the incident which took place Friday afternoon at Craig Elementary.

Officials at Parkway's Craig Elementary are notifying parents and child caregivers to an incident that took place Friday after school, reported Monday night by by KMOV-TV: Dear Parents and Caregivers, We are writing today to make you aware of an incident that occurred in the Craig Community last Friday afternoon. On Friday, November 9, at around 4:05PM, two Craig Elementary students (both 10 year old boys) were standing in front of a home in the 11900 block of Barkman when an older white male wearing a blue ball cap pulled up to them, opened the door to his grey Lexus SUV (tinted windows) and asked the boys to get in the car.  The boys did not respond and the man drove away. Police: Cleaning Woman Stole 90-Year-Old's Engagement Ring

St. Louis County Police said they found a new employee of a cleaning service, owned by the victim, had stolen and pawned the ring set.

A cleaning woman stole a diamond engagement ring from a 90-year-old woman, St. Louis County Police said. The ring originally belonged to the elderly woman’s mother. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued warrants Oct. 8 on Angela M. Wisecarver, 31, of the 3100 block of Quiet Forest in Jefferson County for one count of felony stealing. Prosecutors said Wisecarver stole a 90-year-old woman’s diamond engagement ring, which originally belonged to her mother. The bond has been set at $7,500. St. Louis County Police Central County Precinct officers responded July 26 to a theft in the 1200 block of Moncoeur Drive in unincorporated St. Louis County just south of Maryland Heights. Police: Duo Stole 11 Cars At Lou Fusz Dealership, Part of a Larger Car Burglary Scheme

At least 10 people were involved in two car dealership thefts on Oct. 11, as police say the group also stole eight cars from Johnny Londoff Chevrolet.

Two people accused of stealing eight cars from Johnny Londoff Chevrolet also were charged with stealing 11 cars from Lou Fusz Buick GMC Oct. 11, police say. Deangelo Latimore, 21, of the 2100 block of Stansbury in St. Louis, and Chelsea Ashcraft, 20, each were charged with second-degree burglary, 11 counts of stealing a motor vehicle and felony stealing. Court documents state that Latimore and Ashcraft acted with Marlen Waller, Trevonn Hunter and Derell Howell to burglarize the dealership at the intersection of Page and Lindbergh boulevards and steal the cars. They broke into the building at 10900 Page Avenue and stole keys to the cars, police said. The keys were valued at $500. Waller, Hunter and Howell already have been charged with …

Window Foils Theft; Woman Charged With Attempted Burglary

St. Louis County Police said a man and a woman attempted to break into the home.

A St. Charles woman faces criminal charges after police said she tried to break into a St. Louis County home Oct. 4. St. Louis County Police said Kelly Peirick, 24, of the 3100 block of Duquette Drive in St. Charles, and a man removed a screen from a house window in the 2100 block of Seven Pines Drive in St. Louis County. The unincorporated area is south of Maryland Heights near Creve Coeur Park. The two planned to open a window, crawl through it and burglarize the home, police said. The window would not open wide enough for them to get through. Peirick was charged Friday with second-degree attempted burglary. The man has not yet been charged. Bail was set at $10,000. Man Stole Car From Sister's Boyfriend, Police Say

The car was stolen just east of Maryland Heights in unincorporated St. Louis County. The defendant was arrested driving the car in Cool Valley, according to a police report.

A man faces criminal charges after police said he was caught driving a car reported stolen by his sister’s boyfriend. Mathew Mantro, 25, of the 100 block of Sunglow Drive in Lake Saint Louis, was charged Oct. 5 with stealing a vehicle. St. Louis County Police said the victim was leaving his girlfriend’s house Aug. 11 when he discovered his Honda Accord was missing from the driveway in the 1200 block of Magdalena Court. The area is in unincorporated St. Louis County east of Maryland Heights. The car owner had been at his girlfriend’s home Aug. 10 until the early morning hours of Aug. 11. Mantro also was there, police said. Mantro was arrested less than a week later driving the car in Cool Valley. Bail was set at $10,000. For more crime …

County Police: Third Attack May Be Linked to Rapes Near Maryland Heights

St. Louis County Police urge people to come forward with reports on other attacks or information on possible suspects.

St. Louis County Police believe a third attack may be related to two rapes already linked to the same offender in the Creve Coeur and Maryland Heights area. The St. Louis County and Maryland Heights police departments hosted a town hall meeting Tuesday night at Parkway North High School to help inform residents about new developments. About 200 people attended the meeting, which included a free self-defense class led by volunteers from Midwest Krav Magra. “My 32 years of police work tells me this individual will not stop until he’s caught,” St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch told the crowd at the town hall meeting. County Police Plan Town Hall Tuesday About Rape Cases

The most recent attack took place near Creve Coeur across from Parkway North High School last month

St. Louis County Police will hold a Town Hall-style meeting Tuesday night to update the public on a pair of rape investigations that authorities have linked to a possible serial rapist targeting Asian women around the country. The most recent case happened across the street from Parkway North High School September 19 at Bennington Road and Fee Fee Road. County Police will hold a 6 p.m. meeting at North High to answer questions and update their investigation. There will also be an opportunity to learn about self-defense. If you're interested in that portion of the event, you're asked to wear sweatpants, t-shirts, and tennis shoes.
