TRAFFIC ALERT: Route 141 Lanes Open, But Parkway Detour Tuesday

MoDOT is opening lanes on Route 141 in West County between St. Luke's Hospital and Olive Boulevard Monday, but Parkway students will take a detour Tuesday when classes start.

The Missouri Department of Transportation sent out the traffic alert in a news release Monday. (Sign up here for the FREE Maryland Heights Patch Newsletter, including Breaking News Alerts.) Route 141 lanes are opening Monday afternoon in both directions between between St. Luke's Hospital and Olive Boulevard in West County. Lanes are set to open between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.  Meanwhile, Parkway Central students should plan on taking a detour when school starts Tuesday. Woods Mill Road between Parkway Central and St. Lukes will remain closed for two more weeks, according to MoDOT. The school can be accessed by taking Route 141 north to Olive Boulevard, then taking a left onto Olive and another left onto Woods Mill Road (Old Route 141). …

Westbound I-64 Closed Downtown This Weekend

MoDOT reports the St. Louis Regional Work Zones for August 9-15.

Missouri Department of Transportation crews will close all lanes and ramps on westbound Interstate 64 downtown between the I-44/I-55 ramp on the Poplar Street Bridge and 21st Street on the double deck structure this weekend, starting at 10 a.m. Friday to continue work to remove and replace the driving surface. Up to two eastbound lanes will be closed for safety during this work. All westbound lanes, except for the right lane, will be open by 5:30 a.m. Monday, August 12. Lane shifts and lane closures continue on westbound and eastbound I-44 in between Lewis Road and Antire Road as part of a pavement reconstruction project. The changes on I-44 will remain until fall 2012. Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

Cardinals Fans: Be Aware of Ramp Closures Downtown

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on St. Louis area work zones for August 2-8.

Ramps closed downtown Cardinals fans heading from the city to westbound Interstate 64 this week should remember that several ramps to westbound I-64 will remain closed until early September. The ramps from Broadway, 10th Street and 14th Street will be closed around the clock. Downtown commuters, to include Cardinal fans, will need to use Pine Street, Jefferson Avenue or Market/Compton to get back onto westbound I-64. Illinois fans coming to the game will be able to use the 9th Street ramp to get into the city from westbound I-64. More Resurfacing on I-64 Downtown; Also Lanes Closed on I-70 at Earth City Expressway

Westbound I-64 downtown Drivers on westbound Interstate 64 downtown need to be aware of several lane and ramp closures that are scheduled to start as part of the double deck resurfacing project. At 10 a.m. Friday, crews will again close all lanes and ramps on westbound I-64 between Broadway and 21st Street on the double deck structure. City commuters will be able to access westbound I-64 from Pine Street, Jefferson Avenue or the Market/Compton interchange. The two left lanes will reopen by 5:30 a.m. Monday. All Westbound I-64 Lanes Closed Downtown This Weekend; New Route 141 Opens

MoDOT closes all westbound I-64 lanes in downtown this weekend The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will close all lanes on westbound Interstate 64 between Broadway and 21st Street this weekend. The closure will begin at 10 a.m., Friday. All lanes, except for the left lane, will be open by 5:30 a.m., Monday. During the closure, ramps from 10th and 14th streets will remain open to westbound I-64. MoDOT Cancels I-270 Closures, Rock Blasting For Rest of Week

Modot is canceling the daily road closures on I-270 between Manchester and Big Bend roads in West County.

The Missouri Department of Transportation announced Wednesday morning it is canceling the daily Interstate 270 lane closures so crews can can complete survey work in the blasting region. I-270 between between Manchester and Big Bend roads was being closed two times a day, Monday through Friday for rock blasting as part of the I-270 road widening project that is underway from Manchester Road to I-44.  The portion of I-270 near I-44 has remained open during this portion of the construction.  As previously reported by Patch, MoDOT has been closing both northbound and southbound sections of I-270 for up to 15 minutes at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. during weekdays. Traffic Ahead: More Than 100 Work Zones in the St. Louis Area

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on St. Louis area work zones for June 14-20.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has more than 100 construction and maintenance work zones planned in the metropolitan area during the next week. MoDOT asks drivers to slow down and be aware in work zones. From downtown St. Louis to Franklin County, MoDOT crews and contractors are taking advantage of the good weather to make progress on major construction projects. This includes such as widening Interstate 270 between Manchester Road and Interstate 44, and the I-44 pavement reconstruction between Lewis Road and Route 141. Traffic Ahead: All Westbound I-64 Lanes to Close in Downtown St. Louis Friday Night

MoDOT I-270 Update: Expect Brief Closures Friday

MoDOT reports the I-270 closures will continue Friday and so far there have not been major problems or delays.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports Thursday that morning and afternoon closures went as planned in the Interstate 270 work zone in West County. Rock blasting is taking place between Manchester and Big Bend roads daily. MoDOT reports no major problems or traffic delays in the area and plans to move forward with Friday's morning and afternoon blasts as originally scheduled. The morning blasting time is around 10 a.m. and the afternoon is around 1:30 p.m. Drivers are advised to avoid that area during blasting because I-270 will close for approximately 15 minutes around those times during the weekdays. MoDOT: I-270 Daily Closures Running Smoothly So Far

MoDOT reports Wednesday's road closures and rock blasting on northbound and southbound I-270 experienced no serious issues.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports it is monitoring the work zone along I-270 in West County where rock blasting and road closures are taking place daily.  So far, there have not been any problems in the work zone between Manchester and Big Bend roads, according to MoDOT. However, drivers are urged to "pay attention to signs in the work zones and alter their travel times by leaving earlier for their daily commute." Wednesday, MoDOT stated in a news release that the morning blasting time around 10 a.m. closed the road for less than 10 minutes.
