DJ Pauly D, of Jersey Shore-fame, will be one of two supporting acts to the Backstreet Boys. The concert is set for Aug. 3 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Maryland Heights.
Backstreet Boys, one of the most popular boy bands of the late 1990s and early 2000s, will be performing at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater Aug. 3 as part of their "In A World Like This" tour. Tickets go on sale May 18 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater box office. The concert will support the band's new album, which is expected to be releasead July 30. According to a marijuana law reform news site, a Missouri group was denied a booth at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater's Pointfest because the booth could have strained the concert venue's relationship with the city and its police force.
Marijuana reform activists from Missouri were denied vending space during a weekend event at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, citing concerns that a booth promoting marijuana legalization could strain the venue’s relationship with the city and its police force, The Daily Chronic reports. The report says Show-Me Cannabis, a Missouri organization that advocates for the reform of marijuana laws, had submitted a vendor application for Pointfest, but the application was denied over concerns that allowing a booth advocating marijuana legalization would strain the amphitheater’s relationship with the city and its police force. Police and fire officials spent part of Sunday searching a creek near the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.
The Maryland Heights Police Department is relieved a call about two women being abducted was a false alarm. Chief of Police Bill Carson said law enforcement responded to the scene where a woman said her sister in she were in grave danger, following Sunday's Pointfest concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. "We had a very, very intoxicated young woman report that she had been abducted along with her sister," Carson said. "(She said) that her sister had been thrown into the creek near the amphitheater and that she had last seen her floating away down the creek." The two bands will be coming as a part of their North American tour.
Two multiplatinum alternative rock bands have been added to the summer concert line-up for the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Matchbox Twenty and Goo Goo Dolls will hit the amphitheater’s stage July 9 as a leg on their North American tour. Their tour kicks off June 25 in New Hamphsire. Matchbox Twenty will be playing hits from their latest album, NORTH, while Goo Goo Dolls will release an album May 7. Ticket sales for the concert opened Friday at Ticketmaster, and have a special price of $15 on lawn seats without box office service fees for the first week of sales. In an effort to make the concert-going experience more affordable, Kid Rock will charge just $20 for tickets all summer.
Kid Rock, ZZ Top and Uncle Kracker are coming to Maryland Heights' Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Aug. 24 and they're making it relatively cheap for fans to go. Kid Rock announced his summer tour this week and in an effort to give those without tons of disposable income a break, he'll be selling tickets for just $20, a steep cut from the normal summer concert fare. “Everyone knows the economy is still hurting people across the country, but I didn’t want that to be a reason why everyone couldn’t get out and enjoy themselves on a summer night," Kid Rock said in the release. Phillip Phillips, the American Idol winner, will support John Mayer at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Maryland Heights, MO, on July 7. Meanwhile, T.I. and Future will support Lil Wayne on August 11.
John Mayer will play a show in St. Louis early-on during his latest concert tour, which breaks a three-year hiatus from touring. Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, the popular concert venue in St. Louis, is looking to hire several seasonal positions and will host a job fair in March for interested applicants.
Although winter weather remains abundant, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater has begun planning for those hot days of summer. The amphitheater has begun hiring for multiple part-time positions for its 2013 concert season. The amphitheater is hiring for a number of positions, including: For security positions, people must be 21 years of age or older and must pass an extensive background check. Verizon Wireless Amphitheater will host a job fair March 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wingate Hotel in Maryland Heights.
