Maryland Heights' Retail Falls Short

Little explains her frustration over going outside the city to buy clothing and household items.

Picture this: it's time for your kids to go back to school and  they need clothes. After getting your finances in order, you have to hop in your car and go to other St. Louis suburbs to do your shopping. Maryland Heights has a large grocery store, drug store, plenty of restaurants and small haunts. We're a thriving city with plenty to do and see, but not much in the way of shopping—what a pity!  Bridgeton has plenty of shopping areas; major retailers like Target and a Khol's service their residents. It would be wonderful to have at least one department store or discount outlet in our neck of the woods. Back in 2005, there was talk of bringing a Wal-Mart to the Dorsett/McKevley thoroughfare. Wow, you hit the nail on the head. M.H. has many business and industrial parks that could house shoppes that could help bring in more revenue. I would love for the city to see your "plan". Thanks for commenting.   more ›
