A sentencing hearing for Patrick Walsh, a Florissant man who pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and assault charges was postponed Wednesday after family members and friends packed the courtroom for the hearing. Patrick D. Walsh, 21, of the 1800 block of Violet Drive in Florissant, pleaded guilty Nov. 15 to two counts of involuntary manslaughter and five counts of second-degree assault. The Missouri Highway Patrol reported Walsh was driving under the influence of alcohol and was going about 100 mph when he struck the rear of a Chevy Tahoe carrying six people. A man faces a criminal charge after police said he caused a collision on New Ballas Road Friday while driving drunk. Kenneth S. Klein, of the 1700 block of Schulte Hill Drive in Maryland Heights, was charged Saturday with second-degree assault, driving while intoxicated. Klein caused an accident at 828 New Ballas Road in Creve Coeur by colliding with a woman’s car, police said. The woman bruised her arm and hit her head in the crash. Creve Coeur Police said Klein appeared to be drunk and had watery eyes, slurred speech and smelled like alcohol.
