Man Charged With Child Abuse While Punishing 8-Year-Old
Police said Omar Cornute repeatedly struck the boy in the face, eye, neck, back, shoulder and legs on Wednesday.
A Maryland Heights man is accused of abusing a child while dealing out corporal punishment Wednesday. Omar Cornute, 33, of the 12500 block of Arpage Lane in Maryland Heights, was charged Thursday with abuse of a child and endangering a child’s welfare. Maryland Heights Police said Cornute repeatedly struck an 8-year-old boy in the face, neck, eye, back, shoulder and legs. Police said the child was injured during the incident.
