Patrick Walsh was was driving about 100 mph in a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado and had a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit when he crashed into a Chevy Tahoe on Interstate 270, near West Florissant Road, in 2011.
Patrick Walsh, the drunk driver responsible for a car crash that killed a Parkwood Elementary teacher in September 2011, will be sentenced in a St. Louis County courtroom today. Walsh, according to reports, was was driving a truck about 100 mph and had a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit when he crashed into a Chevy Tahoe that Steve Brueggen, of Florissant, was riding in on Interstate 270, near West Florissant Road. The Tahoe flipped over several times, ejecting Brueggen and another man, Michael R. McLemore, 37, of O’Fallon, from the truck. Both were killed. Walsh and the other occupants in the Tahoe had minor injuries. Walsh was charged, and later pleaded guilty, to two counts of manslaughter while operating a vehicle with a …

Two town hall-style meetings regarding Coldwater Creek contamination will occur at Aerospace District Lodge 837 in Hazelwood on April 3; and James J. Eagan Community Center in Florissant on April 4.
The legal team tasked with working litigation over contamination in Coldwater Creek will host a pair of town hall-style meetings next week in efforts to inform the public on the proceedings. The meetings are slated for Wednesday and Thursday near Maryland Heights. Each meeting will take place at 6 p.m., and are free and open to the public. Meeting locations are as follows: Lawsuits The three lawsuits allege that exposure to radioactive waste produced by the Mallinckrodt chemical company is causing rare health issues. The lawsuits include groups of people from Hazelwood, Florissant, Spanish Lake, Berkeley, Ferguson, Black Jack and St. Ann. Residents say nuclear waste was improperly disposed of near North County's Coldwater Creek in the …
