Northwest Chamber of Commerce Featured on All About Business St. Louis

The organization was featured for being innovative in changing the way chambers do business.

The Northwest Chamber of Commerce was recently featured on All About Business St. Louis.  During its 3 minutes segment, the organization was featured for being innovative in changing the way chambers do business. All About Business, began airing on KPLR-11 in October 2011. It is a locally broadcasted show about St. Louis businesses. It highlights small businesses in the area that help the city grow and thrive. Each 30-minute show, showcases four to five local companies in a series of segments. It currently airs on ABC30 KDNL-TV. Thursday's winter storm has brought another round of school closings for Friday at major school districts in the West and Central St. Louis County area.

UPDATED: 7:55 p.m.- A heavy load of snow and ice from Thursday's winter storm has canceled school in the West and Central St. Louis County area for another day. Fox2 News will be helping Patch keep you informed of any cancellations for Friday by adding them to the list below, which will be updated throughout the day. Intruder Disarmament Training Offered to School Districts Around St. Louis

Law enforcement and school district officials shared area crises plans at a Safe Schools Partnership meeting Thursday. Police-led training could be provided to teachers and administrators.

St. Louis-area police and school administrators are taking security measures in schools to the next level, even to the point of perhaps conducting training for teachers about how to disarm intruders and negotiate with shooters who invade schools. St. Louis County Police Department officers and members of the Safe Schools Partnership met Thursday morning in Eureka to continue discussions about how to bolster future safety in schools. St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch said police teams are offering to survey the crises and emergency plans for the corresponding schools they service, especially to ensure everyone involved is operating from the same premises.
